Artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Travis and Pete Doherty have all inspired this teen sensation song writer in becoming a hugely popular folk-blues artist. Inspired, adolescent Amy started her career by simply picking up a guitar that her dad had left lying around the house, teaching herself to play. There were no genetic influences, nor even lessons. Just a good ear and few chord patterns found on the internet. And a huge, burning, raging desire to write and play songs. Despite her young age her powerful vocals and passionate delivery have earned her quite a reputation.
Her debut album ‘This Is The Life’ was released back in 2007 and has since sold more than 3 million copies spawning a number one hit in five different countries. Now, her follow-up album ‘A Curious Thing’, recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios and featuring the man, is set for release on 8th March.
In support of the new album Amy Macdonald is set to play shows in March/ April.
