Liverpool Football Club have been swift to respond to the remarkable mix up at the Liverpool v Bolton match last Saturday that stated Taylor Swift not Taylor Bright was appearing at local schools this week, by saying that they will 'debut' Taylor Bright's new single 'Striped Socks' to the sell out crowd at the Merseyside derby this weekend.
It was announced on the tannoy to 44,000 football fans that Taylor Swift, the multi platinum selling act also from the U.S, was appearing at St. Margaret Mary’s Junior School in Liverpool, instead of the up and coming teen US teen act Taylor Bright. Due to staff at the school being inundated with media requests and calls from children and parents wanting to know more, the performance had to be cancelled for safety reasons. Although the announcement had simply been referring to the obvious local newspaper error that reported Taylor Swift's appearance, many of the crowd believed what they had heard , so now Liverpool FC has confirmed that they will debut Taylor Bright’s new single ‘Striped Socks’ during the Mersyside Derby this weekend! A gesture that undoubtedly will mean Taylor Bright becomes an honorary Kopite.
Taylor Bright, who is promoting her new single this week at schools across the UK, was saddened by the cancellation but would like to thank the media and especially Liverpool FC for setting the record straight and she is overwhelmed by the fact that the club is embracing her single and playing it to the packed house. Following all the excitement, her website collapsed for three hours having been hit by 175,000 members of the public , which is amazing and shows the interest the story generated.
Taylor flies back to the U.S. later this week having now possibly become a Liverpool fan for life!
