Californian indie heroes MGMT have revealed that their new album Congratulations will hit the shelves on April 13th. The follow up to the band’s excellent 2007 debut Oracular Spectacular, was recorded in New York and California with producer Peter Kember.
Andrew Vanwyngarden, one half of MGMT, told SPIN magazine that the album has an ocean influence, with “a surfing thread throughout the record”.
Although only two tour dates have been confirmed for this summer, the band has unveiled the nine songs from Congratulations, in the usual what-does-this-really-tell-us-about-anything fashion.
'It's Working'
'Song for Dan Treacy'
'Someone's Missing'
'Flash Delirium'
'I Found a Whistle'
'Siberian Breaks’
'Brian Eno’
'Lady Dada's Nightmare'
'Congratulations'
