Simply Red Bring Down The Curtain After 25 Years With Final Farewell UK Tour & Tickets

Scary up close isn't he! However 2010 is set to be a significant year for Mick Hucknall and the band he founded in 1984, as Simply Red announce a final farewell UK arena tour for December.
Simply Red’s classic pop and delicate ballads have provided the sometimes uplifting, sometimes emotional soundtrack to many of life’s turbulent times. It’s hard to believe that their phenomenal career has covered nearly three decades.
Notching up 10 studio albums, over fifty million global sales and over 30 Top 40 UK singles, Simply Red were always a hugely popular band. They have won countless awards, including 3 Brits, 2 Ivor Novellos and a Mobo Special Achievement, they also gained the most rare prize for a British artist with not one, but TWO number one hits in the USA. In addition, their 1991 album ‘Stars’ was the biggest selling album in the UK for two consecutive years.
The group’s plans for 2010 have already started to unfold with the flame-haired sex troll, Mick Hucknall, releasing a new album ‘Songs Of Love’ on the 28th February this year. The new record contains a selection of Simply Red’s finest love songs and also features two brand new songs, one being a very personal Hucknall song, ‘I Have The Love’, and the other being a new recording of the song ‘Beside You’.
Mick Hucknall spoke about the final shows saying, "Welcome to the final year of twenty five mind blowing years. What an adventure it has been! I could never have imagined my career would bring me so far." The singer continued, "we want to share this closing anniversary with all the people who have enjoyed our sound throughout the years. Celebrate it and gently move on to the second half of a musical story. We all hope to see you at a show somewhere soon."
Having given over 1100 live performances to over 11 millions people over the last 25 years, Simply Red have now announced details of what will be their final tour. A farewell tour.
