Brits Critic’s Choice Ellie Goulding Set for UK Album Chart No.1

Tuesday, 02 March 2010 Written by Matt Hamm

Indie-pop favourite Ellie Goulding is well on her way to topping the UK album chart with her debut album ‘Lights’. Released yesterday (Mar 1st) the 23 year old has a 40 percent lead over nearest rival Lady Gaga.

The BBC Sound of 2010 and Brits Critic’s Choice winner has received mixed reviews from critics, but this definitely hasn’t held back her strong album sales. Which is no surprise really after her second single ‘Starry Eyed’ reached an impressive 4th spot in February.

Mid week charts also show TV show marmite Glee in 3rd with their ‘Glee: The Music Volume 1’, whilst new albums by Joanna Newsom, Jason Derulo and John Barrowman are all on course for a place inside the week’s Top 10………kill us now please.
