Courtney Love’s Hole are to return to the UK later this year in May for three live shows.
Hole emerged from Los Angeles as an alternative band in 1989 and became one of the most popular groups of their generation. Surfacing from the Riot Grrl movement, they were fronted by one of the most charismatic leading women in rock music, Courtney Love.
After initially conquering the charts the group disbanded in 2002 and declared that they were on hiatus, a hiatus that lasted over a decade. With Courtney Love battling her personal issues, it seemed as if Hole were going to be another great band that had come and gone.
Now Hole is set for their return after almost a decade of silence! Courtney Love recently gave a performance with Hole at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire and confirmed the release of her new album ‘Nobodys Daughter’ would be released as a Hole project.
Lining up with Micko Larkin on lead guitar, Shawn Dailey on bass and Stuart Fisher on drums, the grunge icons have confirmed just three shows across the UK for later this year. Kicking off on May 3rd in Glasgow, followed by a performance in London on May 5th before a show in Birmingham on May 9th.
Hole will play the following UK dates:
May 2010
3rd O2 ABC, Glasgow
5th O2 Academy Brixton, London
9th O2 Academy Birmingham
Tickets are available from 9am on Thursday 4th March.
