Now over 30 years old, Thin Lizzy’s seminal live album ‘Live And Dangerous’ has been voted the top live album of all time.
The 1978 record came out trumps in a public poll organised by Planet Rock radio to find the top 40 live albums. The record captures the ground-shaking performance of the Dublin rockers playing in Toronto and also London’s Hammersmith Odeon, belting out classic tracks such as ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’ and ‘Jailbreak’.
Legendary Phil Lynott and company faced tough competition from other big name bands such as Deep Purple, 2nd place with ‘Made In Japan’, and UFO who took 3rd place with ‘Strangers In The Night’.
Other bands to hit the top 40 include Pink Floyd, Kiss, AC/DC and The Who, whose ‘Live At Leeds’ album landed them the 4th place spot.
