Dizzee Rascal Confirms Autobiography On The Way

British rap star Dizzee Rascal has confirmed that he plans to publish his autobiography later this year.

Born Dylan Mills, Dizzee Rascal has been a familiar name in British music ever since the first time he first picked up a microphone. With a distinct British style, the rapper earned himself the title of ‘pioneer’ in what would become known as Grime.

Now regarded as one of the biggest pop stars in the country, Dizzee Rascal has gained a series of number one hits. His latest album ‘Tongue N Cheek’ has been hailed as one of the most successful albums of 2009.

Swapping his grime roots for the electro pop productions courtesy of Calvin Harris, the rapper has come a long way since his early days. Now in an unusual move Dizzee Rascal has announced that he is planning to publish his autobiography.

Billboard website reports that Dizzee will hook up with popular publishing house Canongate for the release. A joint project between the literary company and Dirtee Stank Recordings, the new book is set for release in October later this year. The book is planned to be released on a number of formats, including audiobook, an enhanced e-book edition and an iPhone application.

Music journalist Ben Thompson has been drafted in to help craft an “intimate insight” into Dizzee Rascal’s life. Some highlights could include…

- Helping to pioneer grime
- Winning the Mercury Music Prize with his debut album
- Getting stabbed in Ayia Napa
- Having a feud with Wiley
- Turning electro
- Storming the British charts
- Being featured on Stereoboard.com!

The autobiography is due to be released later this year.
