Supergrass have announced that they are to split after 17 years together. In a statement, the Oxford band said: “Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years. We still love each other but, cliché notwithstanding, musical differences have led to us moving on”.
The announcement also coincides with the news that drummer Danny Goffey’s wife Pearl Lowe is expecting their fourth child. Six albums down and achieving mainstream success as part of the Brit-Pop movement of the 90s, the band will play farewell dates this summer.
The farewell tour goes on sale this Friday (April 16th) at 9am and the dates are below. It’s always a shame to hear that band’s are calling it a day, but let’s be honest: Supergrass haven’t totally been at their best in the past few years, so we at Stereoboard rather think this is good timing lads.
