Bon Jovi Search For Unsigned Bands To Support Their O2 Arena Shows

Poodle rockers Bon Jovi are out on the search to make the dreams come true for five unsigned British bands this summer, looking for support acts to gear up the crowd at their month-long stint at London’s O2 Arena this June.

Ok, it’s been a while since it was cool to talk about Bon Jovi. Their days of living on prayers and keeping the faith have long since been over but still they’re hugely popular with a whole new load of songs, lets just think about how it would feel to support such legends, let alone being onstage at one of the world’s most prestigious venues.

The opening act competition was announced by legendary Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, revealing the details saying, "If you want to open one of our O2 shows and think you've got the chops to win, upload a track via www.openforbonjovi.com and we'll be seeing you on tour!"

The dream prize winners will join the residency's other support acts who include Kid Rock and One Republic and will get to play a 30 minute slot of their own material to a sold-out O2 arena crowd. Not only that however, winners will also receive expenses of £350 to get to the gigs which take place in London on June 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 13th.

Now if you’re reading this and think you and your band have what it takes to play the same stage as the multi-million-album-selling band, all you need to do is submit a video of your band playing live to the competition website by Monday 31st May.

Those who will decide whether you’re worthy of the gig will include Bon Jovi’s management team, gig promoters AEG Live and new talent agency goNorth. Doesn’t sound too bad really does it. It’s not like Pierce Morgan and Simon Cowell are there – not as if those guys know a decent bit of music anyway!

Bon Jovi were the first ever group to play at the O2 Arena, who took to the stage for the first time in June 2007. They will now be crowned the first rock band to take up such a long residency at the venue, which will sprawl the length of a whole month.

As well as trawling deep through their massive back catalogue for the classic hits of their career that spans over 20 years, Bon Jovi will be promoting their 11th studio album ‘The Circle’. Surely enough songs in amongst that mix for a twelve-date stint!
