Solid heavy metal rockers Chimaira have released details of their forthcoming UK tour, set to go ahead this Autumn.
The six-piece band have been one of the most consistently heavy and committed bands in metal for the last ten years. Signed to Roadrunner records and already toured as support for the likes of In Flames, Hatebreed, Soulfly and Spineshank, Chimaira have made a massive impact on the metal scene.
Formed in 1998 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, Chimaira’s latest release, new album ‘The Infection’, was released back in April and sees the sextet unleash another audio assault of their punishingly brutal sound. The group return to the UK this September and October to once again destroy stages and drive fans into a crazed rampage with their patented brand of thrash metal.
The new album has been described as being a cinematic sonic rollercoaster with machine-gun drumming as tight as a mosquito’s ass and guitar work that hits the ears like a punch in the guts. The vocals are both tortured and threatening. This is all mixed together to create a sound that the band have described as a “mosh pit inside a burning ballroom.”
Chimaira will play the following UK dates:

30th O2 Academy, Bristol
Ocotber 2010
6th Waterfront, Norwich
7th Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth
