The Cribs Begin Recording Fifth Album

Wakefield’s finest, The Cribs have begun recording their follow up to 2009’s Ignore The Ignorant. Starting work before the summer festival season, guitarist Johnny Marr has told BBC 6 Music that he’s “excited”.

Talking to the brilliant radio station, the former Smiths man explained that the new stuff is “quite different”. Adding “particularly (the stuff) that Ryan is coming up with is quite different. He’ll kill me if I tell you”.

The guitarist continued that “Ryan’s been playing some keyboards and he’s got very inspired by it so it still sounds like the band and his lyrics are always really interesting”. So attention Stereoboarders...the new Cribs stuff is going to be different AND interesting.

(we'd personally like to thank Johnny for that bombshell of a revelation)
