American group Eels have released details of their new album as well as a short UK tour, set to kick-off in August.
Fronted by mastermind Mark Oliver Everett, also known as “E”, the band Eels have released a string of studio albums. Being regarded as such a hard working band, the four-year break following the release of their albums ‘Blinking Lights And Other Revelations’ came as quite a surprise.
With most of us assuming band tiredness and with E using the break to write his memoirs, we didn’t think that this was the time needed by Eels to plan their next batch of new material.
In an announcement made on 20th May, Eels unveiled their plans to release the final installment of an album trilogy later this summer. Beginning with the release of ‘Hombre Lobo’ in 2009, the trilogy will run through January-released ‘End Times’ and conclude with ‘Tomorrow Morning’, which is set for release on August 23rd.
Eels plan to support the final part of the trilogy of albums with a live show at this year’s V Festival as well as a short four-date UK tour to showcase the new material.
