New York indie-rockers Interpol have announced more dates to their UK & Ireland return later this year.
Recording their long anticipated fourth studio album at famed New York Electric Lady studios, Interpol are set to release the new album later this year. The album, which is currently unnamed, will be the follow-up to 2007’s ‘Our Love To Admire’, and the band will hit the road to support the new record without long-time bassist Carlos Dengler, who recently quit the band.
Announcing two shows to take place at London’s Brixton Academy, the shows come after the news of the band cancelling the majority of their upcoming stateside tour following the news of U2 postponing their shows on their US jaunt.
.
Since Interpol’s critically acclaimed 2002 debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’, the band have excelled at establishing themselves as one of the most successful bands of their genre.
The UK shows will be the band’s first appearance on UK soil since 2008 and the band claim that there will be some “very exciting new recruits” filling the shoes of former bassist Carlos Dengler who quit the band after the completion of the new album.
Interpol will play the following UK dates:
December 2010
6th O2 Academy, Brixton, London
7th O2 Academy, Brixton, London
