Now regarded as on of the finest MC’s in the UK, Dizzee Rascal has scored his fourth Number One single with ‘Dirtee Disco’.
Starting out playing the underground grime clubs of London, over the last few years Dizzee Rascal has catapulted into the British pop limelight with the release of a string of smash hits.
Mixing hip-hop with underground dance, Dizzee Rascal is now labelled as one of the finest MC’s in the UK using his grime roots and blending them with pop to dominate the charts. Getting the party started at countless festivals last year it seems as though Dizzee’s success is to continue with his fourth Number One shooting straight into the top of the charts over the weekend.
Following the success of ‘Holiday’, ‘Bonkers’, and ‘Dance Wiv Me’ the single has fought off tough competition from some well respected artists. Eminem’s anticipated comeback track ‘Not Afraid’ entered the charts at Number Five with the stateside rapper’s new single being the first release from his new album ‘Recovery’.
The album chart is all change this week with last week’s holders of the top-spot The Rolling Stones and their re-release of expanded version of ‘Exile On Main Street’ slipping to Number Five. Meanwhile, Pendulum’s new album ‘Immersion’ came straight in at Number One.
Ah well, it was nice while it lasted.
