Roger Waters Announces Two Additional London Shows To Meet Demand For The Wall Tour

After recently announcing an all new The Wall tour, former Pink Floyd singer Roger Waters has been forced to add two additional London shows to cope with the huge demand for tickets.

Grabbing the reigns of Pink Floyd following Syd Barrrett’s mental breakdown, Roger Waters took the band down a new path and with the arrival of concept album ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ a template had been drawn for future concept records.

Despite ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ being a huge success, it is the creation of concept album ‘The Wall’ and its lavish tour that the band is perhaps best known for. Being listed as one of the, if not the most, expensive tour in rock history, an enormous wall was built and destroyed through the duration of each performance on the tour.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the The Wall’s first tour outing, Roger Water announced a North American tour earlier this year. Now, due to huge demand, the singer has added a European leg to the schedule.

Playing at venues in a staggering 25 cities across Europe, demand for tickets has been incredible. With Waters claiming that this could well be his final tour, such a statement has only added to the frenzy amongst fans trying to secure a ticket.

The tour is expected to feature some of the latest technology in lighting and video and will also include some big surprises. Waters spoke about the tour explaining the comparisons between its initial outing and next year’s return.

"When we first did it, we were after the end of the Vietnam War, and we're right now in the middle of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, so there's a very powerful anti-war message in The Wall. There was then and there still is now," notes Roger Waters.

"This new production of The Wall is an attempt to draw some comparisons, to illuminate our current predicament, and is dedicated to all the innocent lost in the intervening years," he adds.

Roger Waters has added shows at London’s O2 Arena on May 14th and May 15th next year. Tickets are on sale now.
