Former Supergrass Drummer Danny Goffey Joins Babyshambles

Following confirmation that Adam Ficek had quit problem-riddled band Babyshambles, it has now been revealed that former Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey will temporarily step in behind the kit.
A statement released by a spokesman for Babyshambles read, "Babyshambles have parted company with drummer Adam Ficek. Currently booked Babyshambles commitments will take place with Danny Goffey of Supergrass filling in on drums."
Back in April, during a show in London, Babyshambles annoyed a number of their fans when both frontman Pete Doherty and guitarist Mick Whitnall appeared onstage accompanied by an unnamed drummer and bassist. Met by a number of protests from the crowd, Doherty told fans that the unknown drummer and bassist were current members of Babyshambles. If that’s the case then why the sudden announcement of Goffey's recruitment then?
Babyshambles’ future could be described as shaky with the confirmation of the reunion of Doherty’s former band The Libertines set to take place at this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals. However, tour information on the Babyshambles website suggests that there will be life after the reunion gigs.
The Libertines performances will be the band’s first shows since Doherty was fired from the group in 2004 due to drug problems.
Danney Goffey’s former band Supergrass announced their split recently after a massive 17 years together. They are to play their final show this week with a gig scheduled for La Cigalle in Paris on Friday 11th June.
