Air And Tricky Added To V Festival Line Up

V festival has expanded its line-up once again with Air and Tricky confirmed to perform at the twin site festival.

Over a decade since the festival began, the weekend bash has now become one of the live music highlights of the summer. A little commercial perhaps but this has never stopped thousands of music fans from descending onto both sites for the August weekender.

2010 will see the festival grow further with the addition of the Virgin Media Union Tent. Organisers unveiled the massive new stage with the announcement that a host of star names are set to tread its boards on its first year.

Manchester indie icons The Charlatans are amongst the big names to play the new stage, with the band likely to play a number of tracks from their debut album ‘Some Friendly’. Set for the re-release treatment ‘Some Friendly’ will be re-issued later this year with 2010 marking its 20th anniversary.

The announcement that French electro-pop stars Air have been added to the V bill will come as good news to fans that saw the duo’s return last year with the release of their critically acclaimed album ‘Love 2’, a highly anticipated new record which saw the pair return to the top form of classic album ‘Moon Safari’.

Tricky has also been confirmed to appear at the festival, expected to play a special performance showcasing some new material set for his brand new album. The singer has recently recorded an album track with Primal Scream’s frontman Bobby Gillespie.

Other acts that have been confirmed for the new Virgin Media Union tent include Scottish indie-folk band Frightened Rabbit, Mark Lanegan, Cherry Ghost and Imogen Heap.

V Festival takes place over the weekend of August 21st -22nd.
