Demetri Martin is an American comedian, actor, artist and musician from New York, best known for his work as a dead-pan stand up comedian, being a contributor on The Daily Show, and his Comedy Central show Important Things.
Martin started his stand-up career in 1997, and caught his first break in 2001 when he appeared on Comedy Central's showcase 'Premium Blend'. At the 2003 Edinburgh Festival Fringe he won the Perrier award with his show 'If I...'. The show was turned into a BBC television special in 2004. Since, he has written for Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and has released a comedy album, 'These Are jokes', which dropped in 2006. More recently, he appeared on a Netflix Special titled The Overthinker in 2018, the popularity of which spurred on the Wandering Mind tour, seeing Martin tour the US, and the UK in 2019.
