The Detroit Lions are an American Football team hailing from Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1930 as a Portsmouth team, it moved to Detroit four years later, and has remained there ever since.
Part of the NFC North Division in the NFL, The Lions would enjoy a lot of success in the pre-Super Bowl era, but since then, they've suffered somewhat of a drought - they have been the longest of any NFL franchise without an appearance in a Super Bowl or NFL Championship: 57 seasons. However, the Lions are desperate to prove they're still a contending team, and having appointed Jim Caldwell as head coach in 2014, they would reach the playoffs for just the second time since 1999.
