Geddy Lee—real name Gershon Weinrib—is a musician from North York, Canada.
Best known as the lead vocalist, bassist and keyboardist for massively influential rock band Rush, he joined the band in 1968, at the request of his childhood friend and bandmate Alex Lifeson. Putting out their self-titled debut studio album in 1974, they have gone on to release 19 studio albums to date, with their final and most recent being 'Clockwork Angels' in 2012. The following year, the group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In addition, Lee has also put out a solo record in the shape of 'My Favourite Headache', which landed in 2000. Rush ceased touring at the end of 2015, going on to announce their official split in 2018. Geddy Lee will celebrate the launch of his new book, My Effin' Life, with a series of special In Conversation shows across the UK in December 2023, following a fall US run.
