George Benson is a jazz and funk singer-songwriter from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He began recording music professional at just nine years old, and was considered a child prodigy, but truly shot to fame in the 1960s as a jazz guitarist. From there, he launched his solo career, going on to release a whopping 36 studio albums, as well as countless other live LPs, compilations and even movie soundtracks. His efforts have not gone unnoticed, having been awarded some of the highest honours in music, including 10 Grammys and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. An absolutely wonderful evening filled with genuine emotion.
London Royal Albert Hall on June 25 2014
My husband and I were fortunate enough to see George Benson last night at the Royal Albert Hall. It was an amazing concert. He was spectacular. We would think by the attitude of the audience that without a shadow of a doubt everyone enjoyed the night - the Albert Hall was absolutely alive with emotion.
