George Mpanga - best known by his stage name George the Poet - is an English singer-songwriter and poet hailing from the St Raphael's Estate in North-West London. He currently studies Politics, Psychology and Sociology at King's College, Cambridge.
Known best as a spoken-word artist, he self-describes his material as a reaction to rap music, and balances his studying with his stage career full time. In October 2014, he co-headlined London’s Scala with JP Cooper, which was followed up by six more shows in February 2015, then an appearance in London's Village Underground and Scala for April.
