JID—real name Destin Route—is a rapper from Atlanta, Georgia.
While attending Hampton University, he met EarthGang members Doctur Dot and Johnny Venus, and later formed the musical collective Spillage Village. In 2012, he was expelled from university and used the opportunity to focus on his music career. Since then, he has gained a cult following across the world, putting out three studio albums to date, with his most recent being 'The Forever Story' in 2022. His efforts have earned him three Grammy nominations, support slots on tour with Mac Miller, J Cole, Tory Lanez and Logic, and collaborations with the likes of Doja Cat, A$AP Ferg and Joey Bada$$. JID has rescheduled his tour of the UK, Ireland and Europe to July 2023, adding extra dates in the process. He will then head to Australia and New Zealand in August.
