Jocelyn Brown is an American singer-songwriter hailing from Kinston, North Carolina. A talented R&B and dance music singer, she hasn’t actually had much commercial success for her solo work in the US (just one piece of work charting in the Hot 100 in almost 40 years), but is a respected figure in the dance music scene and has been involved in the industry for a long time.
She had a couple of hits back in the 70s performing with Musique, and even broke into the UK charts a lot more than in her native US - she hit #13 in 1984 with ‘Somebody Else’s Guy’, even reached #3 featuring on Right Said Fred’s ‘Don’t Talk Just Kiss’. The motown star will return to London's Jazz Cafe in April for a soul-shaking Sunday night performance.
