John Bishop is a comedian and actor from Liverpool.
He made his debut stand-up comedy appearance in Manchester in 2000, and within just one year he found himself in the finals of some of the UK's biggest stand-up competitions, including So You Think You're Funny and the BBC New Comedy Awards. Now one of the country's best-loved comedians, he is a frequent face on television, having appeared on Would I Lie to You?, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock The Week and the Royal Variety Performance, as well as landing acting roles in Doctor Who and Skins. John Bishop will tour his new show, Back At It, across the UK and Ireland throughout 2024/25, with extra dates added due to demand, with dates across Australia and New Zealand also planned for late 2024. Then, he'll celebrate 25 years of his stand-up comedy career with an anniversary tour of the UK and Ireland in October 2025, including a stop at Manchester's Frog & Bucket, where he performed his very first stand-up show. CARDIFF MOTORPOINT CIA on November 4 2014
HAVE BEEN A FAN OF J.B. FOR YEARS BUT WENT TO CARDIFF ON TUESDAY TO SEE NEW SHOW AND WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. THE SHOW STARTED WELL ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT ALL NEW STUFF. AS THE SHOW PROGRESSED I CAN ONLY SAY IT WAS VERY CRUDE AND BASICALLY WAS ALL ABOUT SEX. HE MADE A LOT OF REMARKS ABOUT DISABLED PEOPLE WHICH WAS IN VERY POOR TASTE. NOTICED A LOT OF PEOPLE OF VARYING AGES AROUND US WHO WERE NOT LAUGHING AND SAW SEVERAL PEOPLE LEAVE AT HALF TIME. WE WERE SO DISAPPOINTED AS I HAVE ALWAYS REALLY LIKED HIM. IF THIS IS BEING TELEVISED THEN A LOT OF EDITING WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE.
