Karl Jenkins is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Swansea, Wales.
Perhaps best known for his 1995 masterpiece, Adiemus—which he released as part of a project of the same name—he began his music career as a member of jazz-rock band Soft Machine in the 1970s, before venturing further into composition in the 80s. He has worked alongside countless artists, and was appointed a Knight Bachelor for services to Composing and Crossing Musical Genres at the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2015. Outstanding performance given by the orchestra, choir and soloist. Sir Karl did not utter a word he let his music speak for him and it enthralled his audience, who gave him a standing ovation. What a privilege it was to be there. The Benidictus was magnificent and moved me to tears. Happy Birthday Sir Karl and may you be Blessed with many more !!
