Ladysmith Black Mambazo are a South African a cappella vocal group that combines traditional sounds from their home country with elements of Christian gospel music.
The choir was first put together in the early 1960s by Joseph Shabalala in Durban, and since then, they have become a worldwide success, with a Grammy nomination for ‘Walking In The Footsteps Of Our Fathers’ arriving some 50 years after their formation. They've released countless albums and recordings, but their latest is 'Songs of Peace and Love for Kids and Parents Around the World' from 2017. Alongside their well-recognised work with Paul Simon on his ‘Graceland’ LP, Ladysmith Black Mambazo have also collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton and many others.
