Lyra—real name Laura McNamara—is a singer-songwriter from Cork, Ireland.
First dipping her toes into the music industry in 2004, she appeared as a contestant on series two of singing competition programme You're a Star, aged 11, and placed seventh in the live shows. Coming full circle, in 2021 she was announced as a judge on Virgin Media One talent show, The Big Deal, alongside Boy George, Aston Merrygold, Deirdre O'Kane and Jedward. She released her self-titled debut album in April 2024 and has landed support slots for the likes of Pink and Sting. Lyra has announced a huge Irish tour for November/December 2024.
