Maceo Parker is an American soul and jazz musician hailing from Kinston, North Carolina. Born in 1943, he is one of the most celebrated saxophone player of all time, having jammed with the likes of James Brown - on the records of whom he would often perform solos - and Parliament-Funkadelic in the past.
Of course, he boasts a healthy solo career too and releases records both on his own and as the frontman of a band, having notched up 16 LPs as the main man over his career. In autumn 2014, he played shows in London.
