O Rappa is a Brazilian reggae rock band from Rio de Janeiro, consisting of Marcelo Falcão, Alexandre Menezes, Lauro Farias, and Marcelo Lobato.
Formed in 1993, the band formed as the backing band from Papa Winnie, when he toured Brazil, and the group stayed together, bringing in Falcão as a vocalist. They released their self-titled debut album in 1994, which they followed with ‘Rappa Mundi’ in 1996, but it was their third album, ‘Lado B Lado A’ in 1999, that gained them widespread recognition. They went on to release a further three albums, ‘O Silêncio Q Precede O Esporro’ (2003), ‘7 Vezes’ (2008) and ‘Nunca Tem Fim…’ (2013).
