Public Enemy are a hip-hop group, based in Long Island, New York, consisting of MCs Chuck D, Flavor Flav, DJ Lord and Sammy Sam.
Formed in 1982, Public Enemy, released their debut album, 'Yo! Bum Rush the Show', in 1987, followed the next year by, ‘It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back’. ‘Fear of a Black Planet’ was released in 1990, which reached #4 in the UK Albums Chart, and ‘Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black’ in 1991, which hit #4 in the Billboard Hot 200. All four albums were commercially and critically acclaimed. The group’s latest album, ‘What You Gonna Do When the Grid Goes Down?’, came out in 2020. Public Enemy will bring their On The Grid 35th Anniversary Tour Australia and New Zealand in October 2024.
