Sinead O’Connor is an Irish alternative pop and folk singer-songwriter hailing from Glenageary, County Dublin. Born in 1966, she is one of the country’s most popular and influential female artists of the past few decades, known for her often controversial lyrics which take on taboo subjects such as religion, abuse and war.
O’Connor found fame with her debut album, ‘Lion and the Cobra’, in 1987, but it was her second LP, 1990's ‘I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got’, that well and truly put her on the map, topping charts both sides of the pond and earning multi-platinum certifications. She has since released a further eight studio albums, with the most recent being 2014's 'I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss'. Sinead O’Connor has shows lined up in the US throughout summer 2021. She will also play Galway International Arts Festival in July 2021, while her Cork and Dublin shows have been rescheduled to summer 2022 due to COVID-19.
