Stephen Backshall is an explorer, naturalist, presenter and writer from Surrey.
Starting his career in 1996, he is best known for his work with the BBC, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel, hosting nature programmes such as Expedition With Steve Backshall, Deadly Dinosaurs, the Lost Land series and, most notably, Deadly 60. He is also the author of the popular children's novel series The Falcon Chronicles, as well as a number of other non-fiction books. His works have earned him some of the highest honours in television, including an Emmy nomination, two BAFTAs and an MBE, among many other honours, including a Blue Peter Gold Badge!
