The Maccabees are an indie rock from South London.
Formed in 2004, the band rapidly became a staple of the UK's thriving indie scene, putting out four albums together before their split in 2017. Following their disbandment, vocalist Orlando Weeks went on to pursue a solo career, with brothers Felix and Hugo White achieving success after forming 86TVs. While these projects are still very much active, the band announced in 2024 that they would be reforming. The Maccabees will headline London's All Points East Festival in August 2025. The show will follow a short European tour, which will see them perform in Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and France that June, their first shows in each country since early 2016. My friend and I went to see The Maccabees play at the Bristol O2 Academy. What a great gig. I had only heard one album before seeing them live, I'm now a fully converted fan! So much so that we then bought Reading Festival tickets and followed them there! Awesome stuff, thanks guys!
