The Virgins are an American post-punk outfit hailing from New York. Formed in 2006 after frontman Donald Cumming, who began writing tracks in his own apartment alone, recruited some friends to help him play his music, the band quickly found interest and fans after releasing their debut EP The Virgins '07. An early demo saw them signed to Atlantic Records.
Atlantic released their eponymous debut album in 2008, and after drawing some positive reviews and putting them on the map, they began touring the globe for years to come. They didn't return to the studio for quite some time - it wasn't until 2012 that Cumming announce a new record (with a completely new band line-up).
