Wilco are an experimental alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois.

Formed in 1994, the band are known for their unique blend of country vibes with folk, indie and rock, They've released 13 studio albums to date, including their 1995 debut ‘A.M’, their 1996 breakthrough sophomore LP, ‘Being There’ and, most recently, 'Cousin', in 2023.

Wilco Photo: Peter Crosby Wilco’s ‘Cousin’ documents a particular feeling: the sensation of being an outlier while also maintaining a connection. For Jeff Tweedy, being a “cousin to the world” is about forming part of a family while knowing that you’re far from central to the group.

Wilco There is a warmth to Wilco’s ‘Cruel Country’ that doesn’t extend as far as its lyric sheet. It is a languid, patient dive into a world of acoustic and slide guitars, with Jeff Tweedy’s weather-beaten voice imparting easy charm and gruff gravity to each stop along the way. His words, though, speak of division and lingering hurt. “I love my country, stupid and cruel,” he sings on the title track. “Red, white, and blue.”
