Aled Jones is a Welsh singer and TV and radio personality from Bangor.
Starting his musical career in 1983, he released a cover of Walking in the Air from Channel 4's The Snowman, which hit #5 in the UK Singles Chart. By the time he was 16 he had recorded 16 albums and sung for Pope John Paul II, Queen Elizabeth II and the Prince of Wales. In later years he continued to release albums, starred in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and White Christmas, and presented ITV’s Daybreak and Weekend as well as BBC’s Songs of Praise, Cash in the Attic, and Escape to the Country and radio shows on Classic FM, BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3. He released the album, ‘One Voice’, in 2016, which hit #1 in the UK Albums Chart and was followed by ‘One Voice at Christmas’, later in the year, as well as a joint album and tour with Russell Watson in 2019. He is set to put out his 40th LP, 'Blessings', in November 2020. Aled Jones has rescheduled his tour of UK and Ireland cathedrals to spring 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
