MUNA Vocalist Katie Gavin Releases New Single Inconsolable

MUNA's Katie Gavin has shared a third single from her upcoming debut solo album.
Along with the previously shared Casual Drug Use and Aftertaste, Inconsolable will appear on 'What A Relief', due out through Phoebe Bridgers' Saddest Factory Records on October 25. Commenting on the acoustic country track, Gavin said:
"I wrote this song in March of 2020, if you can believe it. I was thinking about how being in a relationship can sometimes feel like trying to speak a language you weren’t taught. We all have so much we are up against and we were all modeled very different ways of loving, so it’s hard to connect and it’s very endearing that we keep trying.
"We tried recording this song a few different ways, but we landed on taking it back to bluegrass with Sara and Sean Watkins. We recorded it in about ten minutes on one of our last days in the studio, which was a very special experience. The video was directed by Amalia Irons and a bunch of my friends came together to make that possible. I’m very grateful to them for that."
Having performed at The Old Church in Hackney, London earlier this month, Gavin will play intimate shows in North America during November and December. Tickets are on sale now.
MUNA, meanwhile, will play a show at Forest Hills Stadium in New York on Saturday (September 28). The Los Angeles pop trio released their self-titled third album in 2022, and put out the standalone single One That Got Away in 2023. Most recently, they released the 'Live At The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles' LP in June.
