Gabriel Contino, better known as Gabriel o Pensador (Portuguese for "Gabriel the Thinker"), is a rapper, writer and composer from Brazil.
Known for his socio-political lyrics which speak of activism, and issues of race, social problems, and the Catholic church, he started his music career with a 1993 demo tape containing Tô Feliz (Matei o Presidente), which translates to I'm Happy (I Killed the President), that landed him a contract with Sony Music. Since then, he has released eight albums, the latest being 2012's 'Sem Crise'. He has also written three books; Diário Noturno, Um Garoto Chamado Rorbeto and Meu Pequeno Rubro-Negro.
