Sir Ray Davies is a British singer-songwriter and musician from Muswell Hill, London. He is best known as the frontman of The Kinks.
Starting his music career in 1985, as a member of The Kinks, the band have released 24 albums, and are known for singles such as You Really Got Me, All Day and All of the Night, Sunny Afternoon, Waterloo Sunset and Lola. The band disbanded in 1996. He released his debut solo album, ‘Return to Waterloo’, in 1985, which was followed by ‘The Storyteller’, in 1998, ‘Other People's Lives’, in 2006 and ‘Working Man's Café’, in 2007. He released his latest album, ‘Americana’, in 2017, which reached #15 in the UK Albums Chart. Ray Davies is set to headline the BBC Proms In The Park this September at London’s Hyde Park.
