Toyah, full name Toyah Willcox, is an English punk-rock and new wave singer-songwriter and musician from Kings Heath, Birmingham.
Starting her music career in 1977, as the frontwomen of the band Toyah, the band released five albums, including ‘Anthem’ in 1981 and ‘The Changeling’ in 1982, both of which hit the Top 10 in the UK's Official Albums Chart. After the band disbanded in 1983, Wilcox launched a solo career, releasing her debut solo album, ‘Minx’ in 1985. She has released 11 solo albums to date, the latest being 2021's 'Posh Pop'. Toyah Wilcox and Robert Fripp will take Toyah and Robert's Sunday Lunch Rock Party Tour across the UK in autumn 2023, following solo Toyah UK shows that summer.
