Timothy 'TV' Smith is an English singer-songwriter, best known as the founding member of 1970s punk band The Adverts.
Along with bandmate Gaye Black, he formed The Adverts in 1976. The band's first singles—along with their first studio album 'Crossing The Red Sea With The Adverts' in 1977—were met with critical acclaim and commercial success, but the band were disappointed with the lack of success that followed the release of their sophomore LP, 'Cast Of Thousands', in 1979 and split that same year. Their debut album, however, remains a cult classic to this day, with Mojo magazine ranked Crossing the Red Sea #17 in its list of the 50 greatest punk albums of all time. Having dabbled in other projects since the demise of The Adverts, he released his first solo album, 'Channel Five', in 1983, with a further 10 records following – including 2020's 'Lockdown Holiday,' his most recent serving. TV Smith and Richard Strange will play sets individually and then together at 100 Club London on October 15, 2021.Catch him live by checking tour dates and ticket details on Stereoboard.
