Amy Winehouse was a legendary jazz singer from London. Fusing jazz with modern urban beats she had a unique quality about her music, and acquired numerous awards for her talent.
Her 2003 debut album 'Frank' was nominated for the Mercury Prize whilst her follow-up 'Back to Black' won six Grammy Award nominations and five wins! The triumph meant Winehouse had tied the record for the most wins by a female artist in a single night, and made Winehouse the first British singer to win five Grammys. The singer also won a BRIT Award for Best British Female Artist and has also won the Ivor Novello Award three times. She passed away in 2011, and since many tribute acts have arisen to imitate that amazing voice. A Celebration of Amy Winehouse is the project of Lucy Randell and her eight piece band, who play all the hits, including Rehab, Back to Black, Valerie, You Know I’m No Good and more. In September, the group will play a residency in Canary Wharf's Boisdale restaurant, presenting a week long celebration, with a percentage from each ticket going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Amy's Yard.
