Anohni is a singer-songwriter from Chichester.
Performing alongside her band, The Johnsons, the group have released five studio records together, with their 2005 album 'I Am A Bird Now' winning them the Mercury Prize and Anohni receiving two BRIT Award nominations as an individual for this work. Their most recent, 'My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross', arrived in 2023. She is also an acclaimed solo artist, having released her debut LP 'Hopelessness' in 2016, which also received a Mercury Prize nomination. That same year, she became the first openly transgender performer to be nominated for an Academy Award with her song Manta Ray, which appeared in the film Racing Extinction. Anohni & The Johnsons will play two nights at London's Barbican in July 2024, as part of a wider European tour, before heading across North America in the fall.
