Augustana, was an American rock band from California, and is now the solo project of Dan Layus.
Formed in 2002, the band released their debut album, ‘Midwest Skies and Sleepless Mondays’ in 2003. Their breakthrough came in 2005, when the band signed to Epic Records, with the release of ‘All the Stars and Boulevards’ and the single Boston, which reached #34 in the Billboard Hot 100. Their third album, ‘Can't Love, Can't Hurt’, came out in 2008 and ‘Augustana’ was released in 2011. That year the band left Epic Records and its members parted ways, but Layus decided to continue to perform under the Augustana name. He released the album, ‘Life Imitating Life’ in 2014, via Washington Square. He has headlined his own shows and tours across the USA and UK and has supported the likes of Dixie Chicks.
