Ben Elton is a comedian, author, playwright, actor and director from London.
He first became well-known in the comedy scene as a part of London's alternative comedy movement of the 1980s, with his left-wing political satire. He went on to become a writer on series such as The Young Ones and Blackadder, as well as continuing as a stand-up comedian on stage and television. He has also published 15 novels and written the musicals We Will Rock You and Love Never Dies – the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera. Ben Elton will bring his new stand-up show, Authentic Stupidity, on tour across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2024 through to February 2025.
