Blood Orange is the moniker of Devonté ‘Dev’ Hynes, a British singer-singer and producer from London.
Starting his music career in 2005, as a member of Test Icicles, the band released the album, ‘For Screening Purposes Only’, before disbanding in 2006. Hynes then launched a solo career under the name Lightspeed Champion, releasing the debut album, ‘Falling Off the Lavender Bridge’ in 2008 and ‘Life Is Sweet! Nice to Meet You’ in 2010. He then launched his Blood Orange project, releasing the album, ‘Coastal Grooves’ in 2011, followed by ‘Cupid Deluxe’ and ‘Freetown Sound’ in 2016. 'Negro Swan' was released in 2018, and the year after saw the classical music release, 'Fields'. Blood Orange has cancelled his North American tour dates due to the coronavirus pandemic.
