A message on Axl Rose's official twitter account has cast doubt on the band's upcoming shows and festival appearances at Reading and Leeds this month.
The band had recently announced a UK tour for October, and a European tour kicking off in Belfast on August 31st.
The announcement appeared on the Guns N' Roses frontman's account late last night informing fans that all upcoming shows had been called off and to request refunds from the original point of purchase.
The message read: 'All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds'.
Guns N' Roses played their first US show in over 4 years last weekend when they headlined the fifth and final night of the Rock 'N Rev Festival in South Dakota. Stereoboard.com understands that the band took over two hours to take to the stage after Alice in Chains had completed their set at 11.00pm. According to reports unhappy fans left during the long wait, while others tossed beer bottles and cans at the stage.
Although the message has been posted on Axl's official Twitter account, suggestions are that the account could have been hacked and the message is a hoax.
I guess we'll find out the truth in due course. Stay with Stereoboard.com for an update.
UPDATE: A spokesperson for Guns N' Roses has confirmed to Stereoboard.com that Axl Rose's twitter account had been hacked and the message was a hoax.
