Yet More Unearthed Material To Feature On New Jimi Hendrix Box Set

A box set featuring yet more unreleased material from guitar icon Jimi Hendrix is to be released in November.

Released in celebration of Jimi Hendrix's legendary career, the new collection will be titled 'West Coast Seattle Boy – The Jimi Hendrix Anthology' and follows the release of 'Valleys Of Neptune' earlier this year, which contained material from the guitarist's latter years.

September 18th will mark the fortieth anniversary of his tragic passing, yet Jimi Hendrix remains an icon. Some fans could be forgiven in thinking that the guitarist's back catalogue has been exhausted following the announcement of yet another collection, however, the new release will see yet more unreleased, unheard material which includes early recordings of Jimi working with The Isley Brothers, Little Richard and more.

Disc Two of the box set has captured Hendrix's psychedelic years while Disc Three mostly contains live material. The collection also includes rare, unreleased Jimi renditions of tracks such as 'Hound Dog Blues' and Bob Dylan's classic 'Tears of Rage'.

Two re-issues will also be released alongside the box set collection with Jimi Hendrix's 'BBC Sessions', featuring a famous jam with Stevie Wonder, as well as 'Blues' undergoing the re-release treatment. Included in the 'BBC Sessions' re-issue will be a new version of 'Hendrix At Woodstock' as well as an EP strangely titled 'Jimi Hendrix Christmas'.

The Jimi Hendrix box set, 'West Coast Seattle Boy – The Jimi Hendrix Anthology', will be released on November 16th.
